Companies registered to the BAFE Fixed Gaseous Fire Extinguishing System SP203-3 scheme recognise the importance of providing compliant systems while at the same time minimising inadvertent discharges.
The SP203 schemes are made up of four modules: Design, Installation, Commissioning and Maintenance. These four modules recognise the different skills needed for client requirements. Fire protection companies can gain certification in all modules or chosen individual modules depending on the services they offer. It is recommended to specify what area companies should be certified in for your desired works. BAFE registered companies will be certified via one of two UKAS accredited certification bodies:
• BSI (British Standards Institution)
• NSI (National Security Inspectorate)
Legal obligations nationwide require the appointed responsible person for fire safety for commercial/non-domestic premises to have adequate fire protection.
