Portable Fire Extinguisher Survey
Friday 16th February 2018
Help the industry gain valuable data
The FIA (Fire Industry Association) are currently operating a survey regarding the use of portable fire extinguishers. A previous survey on the same topic established that fire extinguishers were used to put out 88% of fires. More data is now required to help the FIA and the fire industry in general to further promote the importance of having extinguishers in place to protect from fire.
Stephen Adams, Chief Executive of BAFE, commented “it is important that the industry acts together to endorse the need for the information required in this survey. Greater understanding of the potential lifesaving and business saving actions that can be taken due to having the correct and competently maintained portable fire extinguisher is extremely beneficial in establishing a safer UK from fire.”
BAFE hopes its registered organisations will take the time to contribute any data possible to establish stronger statistics to demonstrate the importance of portable fire extinguishers (and the competent providers that supply and maintain these).
