Do I have to be BAFE registered - Is it a legal requirement?

Registering your company with BAFE is completely voluntary. It does however have benefits of demonstrating your competency having chosen to be independently assessed and gaining Third Party Certification. It is not a legal requirement but Third Party Certification is strongly recommended by Fire and Rescue Services and the Government:


"We support third party certification schemes as an effective means of assuring the quality, reliability and safety of products and services, and recognise the valuable role BAFE plays in bringing to the marketplace recognised registration schemes for these products and services."
